Job Description: Implements the Sample Job Company (SJC) Child Care program in accordance with accepted practices and SJC policies and procedures. Plans and implements recreational and instructional activities for children. Provides for the physical, emotional and instructional needs of infant, toddler, preschool and school-age children. Assists in keeping the child care center clean and orderly. All activities are performed in a manner that demonstrates SJC values toward children, parents and other staff.
Position Requirements:
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Course work in Early Childhood Education or completion of Child Development Associate preferred.
2. Certification: Must have current CPR and First Aid.
3. Experience: At least 1 year's experience working with children in an elementary school, day care or similar setting required.
4. Interpersonal: Must have the ability to work efficiently and responsibly in an environment with multiple work demands. The ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with children, staff and parents is required.
5. Physical: Must be able to cope with prolonged walking, standing and sitting. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stretch and reach frequently. Verbal, hearing abilities and near vision acuity are essential for this job. |
