Choosing an early care and education program is an important decision for any family. Studies show that children who get quality child care enter school with better math, language and social skills.

The search for the right program for your child takes time and energy.

CCR&R referral counselors are available to give you personalized child care information and referrals by telephone, in person, or by email, Monday through Friday. CCR&R maintains a database of child care providers regulated by the SC Department of Social Services Child Care Licensing Division.  CCR&R can also assist in locating child care programs that are exempt from Child Care Licensing, ie. Mother’s Morning Out Programs, and After-school programs.

CCR&R child care information and referral services are FREE to all parents looking for child care in the following upstate counties:  Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Chester, Greenville, Greenwood, Lancaster, Laurens, McCormick, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, Union, and York.

Parents can call our referral counselors directly, visit our office in person or use the form provided on this site to be contacted by us. Our telephone referral hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

CCR&R counselors will ask you about your specific child care needs and use our comprehensive database program to find child care programs that match your request. In most cases, we are able to give you at least three referrals. We also have information about how you can get help paying for child care, licensing information, and tips on how to identify high quality child care programs. 

All information collected on parents, families or caregivers for the purpose of child care referral services is considered confidential.  No personal, identifying information shall be shared with any internal department or external entity or individual.  Statistical information regarding the numbers of families seeking child care, the types of child care requested, schedule, etc…, may be requested through the CCR&R through a formal request but no personal information will be shared.

The CCR&R provides referrals, not recommendations, to child care programs and resources. The CCR&R does not endorse, warrant, or regulate any child care programs.
