ABC Child Care Program
The South Carolina ABC Child Care Program is the state's child care subsidy program. The program helps eligible families to pay for child care services and helps ABC providers achieve the highest standards of quality in caring for the children they serve. There are 3 levels of child care services available, Levels A, B and C.
BabyNet
The following services are available to eligible South Carolina families who have children under age three with delays in development, but not limited to: assistive technology, family education, health services, medical services, physical therapy, psychological services, service coordination. Depending on each child's needs, BabyNet programs directly provide or offer access to 17 core early intervention services. The specific services a child receives is based on a custom-tailored plan for that child. The family plays a key role in working with staff to create this plan.
Department of Health & Environmental Control
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control provides health services to citizens throughout state. They work with individuals, families, other agencies, institutions and health care providers to promote and protect the health of the public and environment in South Carolina. Our services and programs are designed to keep South Carolina residents safe from disease or physical harm wherever they live, eat, seek healthcare, work or play.
Department of Social Services
A state agency that ensures the safety and health of children and adults who cannot protect themselves, and assists those in need of food assistance and temporary financial assistance while transitioning into employment.
Family Connection of South Carolina, Inc.
Family Connection is a support network for families who have children with special needs. They help children in South Carolina to reach their potential by providing parent-to-parent connections, linking families to community resources, and sponsoring a number of educational and support programs. They match parents of children with disabilities with Support Parents who have children with similar conditions. These trained veteran Support Parents are an invaluable source of support and encouragement because they have faced similar challenges and celebrations. South Carolina First Steps
A statewide education initiative to address the unmet needs of young children and their families to reach first grade healthy and ready to succeed. First Steps in each county provides funds to fill gaps where services are needed, including to expand existing early childhood initiatives. Head Start
Head Start is a comprehensive school readiness program serving kids 0-5 that has a strong focus on ensuring that they start school ready to learn. They offer many other services to these children to help them and to support their families. Families may enroll their children in Head Start programs based on their income and a number of other factors. There are Head Start programs available in every county.

Medicaid
SC State Medicaid is free health insurance available to eligible individuals in South Carolina. If approved, an applicant is covered for a broad range of services.
Parents as Teachers (PAT)
PAT is a national early childhood parent education and family support program serving families throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten, usually age five. The program is designed to enhance child development and school achievement through parent education accessible to all families. PAT is a voluntary, free, innovative early learning program.
Promoting Resources in Developmental Education (PRIDE)
PRIDE is a collaborative program dedicated to earlier identification and intervention of developmental delays of preschool children in the Upstate. PRIDE offers a variety of resources to help parents of young children develop better parenting skills and increase their knowledge of early childhood development. PRIDE partners include Babynet, the Center for Developmental Services, Greenville Hospital System’s Children’s Hospital, and the School District of Greenville County.
Greenville Library System
Greenville County Library System has grown into eleven locations and a website offering information, entertainment, and enrichment with nearly one million available items. The library system offers free Internet access, books, DVDs, music, online resources, research assistance, genealogy help, programs for all ages, and much more. A bookmobile serves the rural parts of the county and home-bound service is available to those who cannot visit a local library.
